RED January 2019 – its over!
The January 2019 handicap saw an attendance record. Despite the cold wind, 39 runners took part. This beating the previous record of 38 from January 2018. Numbers were of course buoyed by 25 RED Runners, all resplendent in their t-shirts (which must by now surely need a wash!) There were lots more RED’ers who were out doing a shorter run or walk and joined us at the finish line. Here’s hoping they have all seen an improvement in their mental and physical health during the month and continue this throughout the year.
They are also raising money for Solent Mind, they’ve already smashed their target, but if you’d like to help them obliterate it … https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/red-january-2019-1e77d895-28c2-4fb8-8aab-63a0f14c1fad
We welcomed first timers, Jean Martin, Joanne Miles, John Kimmance and Sam Martin.
5 PB’s, coming from Jena, Tim, Emily B, Mark A and Matt P – well done all. I would particularly like to thank Paul and Dean who set off fast and never slowed down, to drag me round to a PB.
We were timed by Ian Robinson, who did a cracking job with so many runners. This of course makes it more difficult, so if you aren’t included below, or your time is wrong, let me know and I will correct it.
Red border indicates a RED runner, red and bold time indicates a PB. Emily Bennett fulfilling both criteria!
James B took lots and lots of photo’s (& I have stolen some from the RED runners on-run photography). There is definitely a theme towards the end of running in pairs.
