Over the 9th/10th June a group of 13 (11 runners and 2 drivers) travelled to Twickenham in London and proceeded to run in relay all the way to Sofia Gardens in Cardiff. All this with the aim of completing the 160 mile challenge in under 24 hrs.
After 3 team stages and 24 individual stages the team finished in a time of 22:59:58 and a position of 9th /42. A great team effort and a fantastic result.
My 1st Half Marathon. Cambridge, 5th March 2017
I entered the Cambridge Half Marathon in support of my wife, who took to running like a fish to water about 4 years ago. She is now a veteran of 10k’s, ½ Marathons and the odd full Marathon too. I have always had a more casual approach to running – never really managing to follow a regular training or event pattern, though I have never been without a pair of running shoes. This changed with the advent of Parkrun locally to me here in North Norfolk and I am now in position to order my 100 shirt! By the way, Sheringham Parkrun is a tough, hilly, beautiful course, should any runners be up this way on a Saturday morning.
Overall Winners – The naughty list, we don’t know where we’re going
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the inaugural OS Runners Christmas treasure run. Nine teams with 30 runners set off to hunt down Christmas goodies and trophies hidden on a 7k route, take selfies and film a team singalong. Fun was in the air and even residents and dog walkers joined in. Fancy dress was encouraged and yes a map was involved, each team had to find the answers to ten festive clues and on a few occasions, take photographic evidence.
I went to Barcelona in the Easter Holidays with the family and decided to run around the Olympic Park on my birthday.
Sunday March 20th saw the OS Runners descend on Fleming Park in Eastleigh for the Annual Eastleigh 10k Road Race.
2800 runners had signed up and the place was buzzing with activity.
