A dull, grey, damp Monday marked
the November handicap. So as I headed
out in full waterproofs with a huge OS umbrella to time with Kat, I was
struggling to understand why 26 brave OS Runners were already so keenly waiting
in the drizzle to run the monthly handicap…
We had a good OS turnout at Gosport Half Marathon, the 4th race in the Hampshire Road Race League. Representing OS Runners were: Matt Pillinger, Neil Wilson, Mike Butt, Tony Mabey, David Ball, Ruth Jeffery, Julia Painter, Gary Ashley, Karen Connell – and running for their other clubs Mark Stileman, Ian Smith and Jonathan OMeara.
A short break in the torrential rain gave 13 runners a clear run on the 5km handicap route, this month running anti-clockwise. This time the handicap was entirely male #ThisBoyCan, with the exception of me doing the timing (did I mention my ultra-marathon tomorrow)!
After a hot summer, the weather behaved itself for our annual OS Runners Sports Day. In normal tradition, after work, on a Friday in the school holidays we headed down to Southampton Sports Centre and the running track.
