Romsey 5 mile
Jan 27 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

The Romsey 5 Mile Run is set within the grounds of The Broadlands Estate, once the home of The Earl Mountbatten of Burma. The surface is mainly tarmac with a short distance of smooth hardcore. The course is 3 laps of the estate making it one of the flattest 5 mile races in the county and as such attracts athletes from further a field looking for a PB time. This running event is also perfect for first timers just starting out.  This year we are celebrating our 10th anniversary at Broadlands.

Romsey Relay Marathon @ Broadlands
May 12 @ 10:00 am

he Relay Marathon was originally inspired as part of the Olympic Legacy. The Rotary Club of Romsey envisaged a simple event for a couple of hundred runners spending the best part of a Spring Sunday running jogging or walking on a track in the beautiful setting of Broadlands Park. Since 2013 the event has grown from the original 32 teams to an entry of 134 teams in 2018. Runners have ranged in age from 8 to 80 years old. The event has now become a firm fixture in the Romsey calendar with several thousand spectators turning out to support the teams and enjoy the day.

With a BBQ, free children’s activities on site including Face Painting and entertainers, the Marathon is not just a race or a fundraising exercise, but an event for the whole family.

The Relay Marathon gives an opportunity for anyone to take part in a team of up  to 10 runners who will collectively run 26miles and 385yards. Each runner will run two circuits of 1.3 miles to complete their leg of the course before handing the baton to their teammate. Every penny the Teams raise goes to charities and good causes of their choice, with the whole entry fee supporting Rotary’s work.
