The final handicap of the year saw a Christmas theme, with runners wearing Santa themed clothing.
We also had 2 runners who rounded off the year by recording their best ever times – well done Sarah and Claire 🙂
In WAVA terms, James and Diane have once again retained their titles and are now both recorded a hat-trick of WAVA wins – For those who aren’t aware, WAVA adjusts your time to express it as a percentage of the World Record for someone of your age/sex over this distance – hence the higher the better.
Onto current consecutive attendances – James C is the current title holder, having participated in each event since August, while Baz is in 2nd, with a run stretching back to September.
Finally, a big thank you to Mike Butt for being the starter and timer for today’s event.
Finally, a quick review of 2015 Handicaps;
We had a total of 185 runs, across 12 events (average 15 runners per event), which is our record year;
2014 – 122, average 10.2,
2013 – 144, average 13,
2012 – 58, average, 8
And a total of 40 personal bests recorded.
Joint winners of the most events completed/timed are Mark Aston and James Clarke, who both took part in 9 events, with Keith, Ian S, Robert and myself runners up, with 8 events a piece.
As for most PB’s this year, again a tie at the top, with Diane, Baz and Tim Newman all recording 3 PB’s in 2015.
Thank you everyone who made the took part in the handicap in 2015, in any capacity, you all make it what it is. As always, if you have any ideas for modifications, or improvements for 2016, myself and the rest of the committee are always open to idea’s.
