Firstly, my apologies for the seriously late delivery of this report 🙁 I must do better next time.
Below are the results of the January handicap, run in a clockwise direction.
Well done to all 18 people who ran, this is the best turnout since the ‘Anglicap’ in October 2013 and the joint 2nd highest turnout ever.
We were delighted to welcome first timers on the handicap course, Jenny Brooker, Dean Paulley and Steve Hutton. We hope to see you back next month – the handicap is run every month in the last week of the month, alternating days and also alternating the direction we run the course.
A big well done to James Terry and Baz Newman, both of whom recorded new personal bests at the event.
In terms of consecutive current handicap attendances, the record is held jointly by Jules Buck Rogers, Mark Aston and Ian Robinson, all of whom have attended the last 6 handicaps, if they should collectively miss February’s event, then Ian Smith can take the lead, provided he runs in February.
The next event will be on 23 February and I will send round a calendar invite closer to the time. It is worth noting that both the mens and ladies records were set in February, so fingers crossed for good weather and speedy times.
Finally, a big thank you to Jules for timing at short notice and coping admirably with a large volume of runners.
