Well done to everyone who ran the handicap today. We had 11 runners out, which is slightly down on our usual attendance, but hopefully just a blip.
No first timers today, but we did welcome back Matt White, who hasn’t run this event since October 2013. While there was only 1 PB today, Natalie took 2:27!!!! off her previous best.
This was a ‘guess your time’ handicap and as with the December 2014 event there were a number of very accurate predictions. The winner being Adam Atkinson with a prediction just 2 seconds away from his actual time. Looking back at December results I see he had only a 7 second difference then – clearly he has an inbuilt clock!
As promised, I have also included WAVA gradings on the times below, for those who provided me with their DoB. The higher your WAVA grade, the closer you are to the World Record for someone of your age and sex over this distance.
Mark and Viv have both retained their crowns as WAVA King and Queen which they earned in May.
If you would like a WAVA grade for future events, just let me have your date of birth.
In terms of current consecutive attendances (including timing), Mark Aston has now the all time sole leader, with a consecutive attendance run of 11 events, stretching back to last August, while Ian’s 10 event run stretches back to last September.
The next event will be on Thursday 30th July and I will send round an invite closer to the time.
Finally, thank you to Keith and James for being starter and timer, without them the event could not go ahead.
